Longleat - Part II
Deer and rhino and buffalo thingies!
The ranger came and moved the camels on as they were spending far too much time asleep!
(that's what we reckon anyway, they weren't moved to the paddock or anything, just away from the fence lol)
Tiger!
Lions!
We could hear them roaring from the campsite but when we went to visit they were all fast asleep and there was no sign of any men!
Longleat - Part I
The Great Dorset Steam Fair
Well, it would appear that i was too busy looking at everything to take photos so i'm afraid this is the lot! lol

Mmmmmmmmmm Landrovers! :oD

Swanage
We picked a beautiful day to visit Swanage...

It was way too hot for me to do any more wandering after we'd done the town and the main stretch of seafront so the boys left me in a shelter with the biddies ;o)

Monkey World
I found it very sad at Monkey World as all the animals have been rescued but the lemurs cheered things up a bit as you are allowed to go into their enclosure...

An Adventure - Part One

Somewhere to sleep for a couple of hours before we head off to Wolfsburg - of course maintenance needed doing!
Unfortunately Rob never got his van fixed so had to be push started every time he stopped anywhere!

Oooooh! blue palettes! :oD

Becky looks thoughtful as i take a photo of a man in his underpants!! ::lol::
They aren't that keen on trousers in Europe, when we got to our first campsite there were more men wandering round in pants and most men wear speedos in the pool!! :oD

We made it to the Autostadt! That's a football stadium in the background, the VW Arena - so much better than the porche one :oD
The drive took about 14 hours from start to finish and the campsite was closed (obviously!!) when we got there so we slept in a car park on Saturday night. we were up bright and early on Sunday and booked into the campsite and then headed down to the Autostadt for the day. We got there to discover there was a jazz and swing festival on that weekend and for an extra five euro we could stay for the evening's performance from a German swing band :oD

The worst bridge int he world! It smelled lovely, all those pots had a heliotrope plant in, but they rotated around the (static) bridge and made me fall over!! Very dizzyfying and after i had laughed so hard i then snorted int he face of a stranger, i went on to laugh so much i was crying!! :oD

Oooops!
I am here, really!
Our holiday was most excellent, just what we needed :o)
We had some excitement in the New Forest when the tent behind our van caught light! Luckily there were some people camped right next to the fire stand and they ran over with extinguishers and it was put out before anybody got hurt or before too much of the tent went up. It looked horrible the next day though and makes you appreciate what you have.
The Steam Fair was AWESOME! I am so glad we went, albeit for a shorter stay than our usual week long visit. It meant packing more into each day but we both saw the bands that we wanted to see and we both had a good time walking round the market, it also meant that i only had to do the market for two days, on the third day i was allowed to rest and sit and crochet while i watched the horse arena and walked round the vintage cars and commercial vehicles - ah bliss!
VW ACtion and my birthday weekend were also very awesome. Much vodka was drunk, many dances danced and many camps visited. I don't think i have ever socialised as much as i did last weekend, it was FAB! The racing was excellent as usual, if a little staggered due to many oil downs but on Saturday evening they had night racing which was SUPERB! I've never seen anything like it, it took my breath away :oD
Some crafting was attempted. I have made progress with the hexagon blankie, with nearly 3 "rounds" completed, unfortunately i only took one ball of each colour and the main colour ran out before i could finish the final two hexagons on the third round. Round one has one hexagon, round two has six and round three has 12 with ten completed. I'll be taking it along this weekend to VanFest though so i hope to make more progress on it then :o)
I had started the fish blankie too but ran into a problem when it said in the pattern to twist two stitches on the right needle but she meant the left. Luckily we managed to figure it out over at CTnY and i've been working on it this evening. I've discovered that there's another slight error and you have to knit 2 before and after the increases or it doesn't work out right but it's no biggie, i appreciate the pattern all the same! Mille's patterns are awesome, i am really enjoying how they are coming out and i hope the recipient's love them as much as i do :o)
I have to say a big THANKYOU to Mille for taking the time to let me know that our fix was the right one, she very kindly left a comment after someone else had asked her if we were right, what a sweetie, and to think i was too scared to mail her and ask her!! Thanks hun *hugs*
I'm not sure how to progress with the hexagon blankie, i think i am going to square it off rather than keep it round but i'll have to work out where and what colours i'll need first. I'm looking into trying a quilt design program but i'm not sure i will be successful with it as it wants to know how many blocks i want before i start :o? But it's got to be worth a go hasn't it!
OH! There's some exciting news from VW Action but it will have to wait as i want to go play with the designer, but we have a new addition to the family and you'll be hearing the pitter patter of teeny tiny feet :o)
