I saw this Lizzie Kate design while I was at the Knitting Show at Ally Pally last year and it really spoke to me so despite not having done any cross stitch for many years I decided to buy it. There then ensued much dithering over what colour I wanted to stitch it in as is my usual style!
I really am a ditherer!!

Unfortunately once I got started I realised the thread wasn't quite right, the pale is lost against the colour of the fabric but fortunately I do have a fairly good stash of threads so I am using some of them and using this as a learning experience.
And what a learning experience it is!!
As well as the fabric/thread "disaster" I had also cut the fabric to the right size for the design and stitched the first phrase (in lavender - see, it's the wrong colour!) and then realised I had the fabric the wrong way round so the long edge was the horizontal and it should have been the vertical. That meant there wouldn't be enough fabric to frame it properly as there isn't enough to leave a border and wrap it round the mounting board.
It got put in the naughty corner for quite some time with those two "disasters" but I have decided to grab the bull by the horns and get it finished!
Don't worry though, I has plan! :D
