My poor garden has been seriously neglected for the past few years due to my incessant worrying - ever since i put my back out and had a severe case of sciatica in fact :(
Last week i decided that enough was enough and my intention was to get the veg patch sorted out so i could grow my own crops again but instead i decided to start on the proper garden and work my way down. There were lots of branches from next door's shrubs all hanging over the fence, the lavender had grown out of control and the fence was covered in some ivy that sprung up from nowhere. I also decided that the tiny flower borders needed to be expanded!
So, not much work then!!

This is the small border which houses hydrangea, buddleia and a climbing hydrangea (that has nothing to climb on yet!)

And here is my new flower border!
I had a patch of chrocosmia and iris that i split up and replanted (you can just see them on the left hand side) and i also planted a damson tree from Mum's garden that had self-seeded in one of her borders!
In the border along the fence i have sown lots of poppies, calendula and scabious so i am hoping that the addition of some multi-purpose compost will help them along, plus the rain we've had at the weekend!
There is still MUCH to do but now that i know my back will hurt for a couple of days and then be alright i am reassured, unfortunately i have lots of plans this week so my progress will be a bit slower but i am going to do a little every day otherwise i will lose my enthusiasm for it and i really don't want that to happen!!
