Today

I have mostly been finishing off projects for the Christmas Fayre on Sunday.
I starched and blocked the snowflakes, i hope they are dry by Saturday night but they do take a while :o/ and i have to leave early on Sunday to get there and set up so i need to allow myself time to attach the invisible thread to hang them with.
I also finished off the drawstring pouches that i started two weeks ago!!

Unfortunately time and illness conspired against me and although i got as far as sewing the layers together they all need to be turned the right way, hand sewn closed, pressed and then the corners stiched down to make the channel for the ribbons and the pretty petals on the top.
I bloody love 'em though, they've come out really well :oD

Summer hat

When i was much younger i used to wear a lovely little white cotton skully and last week i found a photo at Mum's which reminded me how much i loved it, so yesterday i had a hunt through the hat collection and only flippin' found it!
Unfortunately it seems to have shrunk and it's rather tight so i thought i'd make myself a new skully for the summer :oD
I had a good hunt on Ravelry and found a lace cap pattern that i liked and then yesteray i spent the afternoon crocheting.
Unfortunately due to a difference in gauge it took me about four attempts to get it right but i did it!

I love it!! :oD

i shopped!

i didn't go with the intention of actually buying anything really, but i came away with a small haul of goodies ;o)

There are a total of 12 fat quarters, some for specific people, others just because ;o)
Some peel-offs for card making and glace pens and acetate, lots of cats eye beads and silver charms for stitchmarkers and a booklet on how to lucet. I also picked up a couple of boobkmarks and a card from the encaustic wax art stand as i just love it and really miss my kit :o(

I managed to resist the siren song of the Marble even though it was looking particularly gorgeous but i'm not sure i'll do so well next time ;o)
When we go to Brighton i shall be looking for some nice papers for my card making as i am running low on them but there weren't actually that many card making stalls there last week.

I also bought Mum her early birthday present - a set of stamps and inks from Card-io, we both love them and i have been promising myself a set since i saw them last year but the price scares me!!

We had a really good day out, the drive was fine, hardly any slow moving traffic, we got parked quite close the to entrance so Mum didn't have to walk too far and we stopped often for lots of rests. I spent some time talking to stall holders and asking questions and i very nearly bought an overlocker from the Janome stand! Luckily i resisted because when i got home and looked at my machine i have discovered that it can do two thread overlocking already and that ought to be good enough for my needs :)

Lombard update

Well, i didn't manage to squeeze in any extra knitting time, in fact i lost some as we went out last night, sooooooo i am down to the start of the foot on both sockses now. I don't think i will get them finished in time to wear tomorrow, but i think i will take them with me in case i get a chance to sit down for a coffee and a bit of cake ;o)
Mum's coming up today so that they don't have to come over at 6am tomorrow but we've had SNOW! so it's more than likely we'll be getting a train tomorrow morning. I do hope this show is better thanthe last one and that there is more knitting and yarncrafts in general. I do know that the knitted garden will be there which i am VERY excited about, it looks absolutely amazing, did you see that bluetit? I can't wait!

In case anyone is reading this and vaguely interested, i have a book up for swap. For some reason i have two copies of Harmony Guide no.6 which is the crochet stitches one. It's brand new, never even been opened, still in it's Amazon wrapper but unfortunately i stuck it down the side of the sofa and forgot about it so now it's too late to send it back and exchange it! If you want it then i'll swap it for any of the other Harmony Guides (1-4, not 5, i have that ;o) ) or any Barbara Walker (yeah right!) or any other decent stitch guide book, or maybe even something else, make me an offer ;oD
