When Royal Mail work, they work like a dream! It's just a shame they will be striking from tomorrow lunchtime for two days and then rolling strikes for another two days. We may have no post for a week! :o(

Anyway, pop over to Anni's Etsy store and check out her gorgeous hand-dyed yarns :o)

Secret Sewing Project revealed!

So, here's the Secret Sewing Project just before it was sent to it's new home.
Can you guess what it is?

Here's a clue:
It's something to do with a member of the CTnY forum who is addicted to yarn :oD

It's my BIRTHDAAAAAAAAAAY! (again!)

Mum and Dad came up for a visit today. I haven't seen her for WEEKS! She looks amazing, very healthy, although she's still having difficulty in getting about and coughing and sneezing are BAD news! Luckily the postman had come a bit earlier and delivered my present from them, two scrummy books that have been waiting patiently on my wishlist :o)

Crochet Blocks by the lovely Jan Eaton
Yarns to Dye for by Kathleen Taylor

I had to sit on my hands and hide my crochet hook to stop me starting a block immediately! There are some real beauties in the book and i am impatient now to finish the fish so i can get started. I have promised myself that i will finish Fish and Hexagons though before i start another blankie, so i better finish my "secret sewing project" so i can get going :o)

The "secret sewing project" is harder work than i thought it would be and taking a LOT longer than i thought it would! Over Monday and Tuesday i spent at least 13 hours at the machine, not including cutting out material and preparing. Today i had some time off to spend with Mum and have only been sewing for 4 hours this afternoon and evening. Hopefully i will be finished tomorrow though and i can get the parcel sent off on Friday :o)

Once it's sent i shall post some piccies, secret ones of course though, you'll never guess what it is :oD
