My lovely Santa has sent me a skein of KnitGlobal baby alpaca which is so soft and squishy you wouldn't believe, and two balls of Lett-Lopi in a wonderfullly autumnal shade. It's all browny with flecks of red and mustard and the occasional flash of silver. Divine! Terri has stalked me well! She also sent me a GIGANTIC double lolly, remember them? A bar of dairy milk with cranberry and granola and a sachet of eucalan wool wash which will come in very handy!
Patterns have been picked already! The alpaca will become a cowl of some description, probably a horseshoe lace one to match my Cranford mitts and the Lopi will be transformed into a hat. I was thinking of one from Going Straight, i just need to decide which one!

The yarn, the colour, the stripes, the pattern, the fit... everything is perfect! But then seeing as everything is not perfect with the other two i had to have one come out right didn't i? :oD
Look how well the stripes matched up after i'd done the heel flap and gusset pick-ups, they are almost perfect! <3
has been made on the Allsorts sock, but that's purely because it has been my "travelling in the camper" knitting and there was only two hours of that this weekend and i forgot to get the knitting out for most of it!! ::lol::
I am loving the striping though but i may have to frog back to the toe and reduce the number of stitches cos it does feel a little loose round my foot :?
First of the pair, i'm using Violet Green in the Allsorts colourway which has been marinating in the stash for goodness only knows how long!
The toe striped well with just a few stitches but there is some pooling of the black nw, hopefully it'll even out over the foot, although i don't really mind pooling to be honest :oD
I've done the toe magic-loop on 2mm and then switched to 2.25mm dpns just for some variety as the other two pairs are on two circulars.
I've had a bit of an incident with the Muscari sock and dropped a stitch down about 5 rows *insert MUCH swearing here*
I really hope i can pick it back up again or else i will have to rip it back to the ribbing and i probably won't manage that and have to start over which will probably make me cry!! :o(
Not much to see here, i only worked on this for an hour or so last night but i thought i'd take pics as i had the camera out :o)
This was my progress one hour later! Two more cable crossings plus 5 set up rows, now i'm ready to start the heel!

I would love to say i planned the thin stripes round the bottom of the ribbing but i didn't! I absolutely love it though :oD
This is how much i did last night while i tried to figure out if it was a hard or intermediate pattern... i've decided this is the intermediate cos it doesn't take much concentration whereas the lace of the Muscari will probably require me to pay close attention as it has increases and decreases and different stitch counts.
Of course, i realised this morning that once i get to the feet they all become easy, cos i only do stocking stitch feet! :oD
Shame isn't it, i shall have to cast on more socks to compensate :oD

I have struggled so hard with this pattern but i finally have it worked out which is a great relief to me!
I ended up putting a marker after each repeat so that i could keep track of the stitch count better, it seemed to work slightly better than just leaving it until the next pattern round and finding out i was a stitch short!
