Needle Roll...

Last week my friend Lisa and i went to Tunbridge Wells to visit The World of Sewing and C & H Fabrics. It was a lovely day out and while we were in The World of Sewing we both picked up a fabric scrap bag with the same fabrics in, i thought it would be fun if we had a little "challenge" to see what we could both come up with for our scraps.I had a good long think and settled on a case for my Knit Picks needles as the plastic cases they came in couldn't comfortably hold everything. I had a go on Friday with some fabric from stash and then refined my design and have ended up with this:

Closed - i picked up some magnetic snap fasteners from Thread Bear on Saturday as i didn't like the ribbon closure that i was going to use.

Open - There's enough room for my current collection of needle tips plus a couple of spaces for any future needs.

The cables and ends are tucked away in four roomy pockets...

...which seal shut with velcro tabs. There is a layer of wadding to add a bit of protection and it's finished with a bias tape edging.I really need to practie sewing that stuff on!!Overall i am really pleased with it, and now my needles are all stored in one place :oD
