For Lise... my hair story...

You know me, i don't do in a nutshell, sorry folks!
My friend's Mum is a hairdresser, and i needed a trim. I've been thinking of having it cut short for a while but wanted a proper 80's spiral perm first then i was going to get it chopped off after a few months when i was bored with it! I picked out a couple of photos from magazines that were kind of like i wanted, all long choppy layers with lots of thinningy bits cos i have such thick hair. I specifically said i didn't want it short and i didn't want short layers, it just doesn't suit my hair and when she'd finished i had an old lady mullet. One layer was about 2" long, the second layer was about 5" and the third layer just brushed my shoulders.

:o(

I came home, kept looking at it thinking maybe it's just that i am used to having it long, i've been growing it for a few years now, haven't had short hair for a while, maybe that's why i don't like it? Nope, i don't like it cos it's A MULLET and i look like a 50 year old granny!! I spent most of Saturday afternoon and evening in tears, which shocked me as i hadn't realised i was so vain!!

Luckily i was able to get an appointment at Rush the next day and the very lovely Jorge sorted it out for me. He wasn't able to do anything with the top really, except to blend it in a bit but the rest he has thinned out and blended in my three layers, i still have a mullet, granted but at least this is a Rock Chick Mullet and not an Old Granny Mullet!!

It's not a very interesting story, but i really was traumatised! I like it a little more now but i'm still not keen, at least my hair grows fast and will soon need a trim and i know how i want to have it once the top starts growing out so that's something to look forward to ;o)

The moral of the story... NEVER TRUST A HAIRDRESSER!!!

Well done Franney... you managed to get to a place where you can actually talk about it. Huge apologies if it was difficult & I thank you for re-living the experience for me.

I'm not liking mine either right now... damn those layers...every time it's the same.

Whyyyyyy do we do it???

ok... back to the yarn chat :-)
