What's this?

A blog post?? No way!! ;o)

So, in my wisdon i decided that a month would be long enough to knit a laceweight shawl.Well, i can tell you now that i was completely wrong!! It's so HARD! I have to concentrate all the time i am knitting, and count each repeat to make sure i have all the YO's i am meant to have and i am making very slow progress. I really don't want to give MiL an IOU so i shall try extra hard this week to get more than one repeat a session done on it, even if i have to sit and knit all day and watch no tv whatsoever!

I really don't know why i do it to myself, i should have started it last year when i got the wool!! I love the pattern though and i think it looks really effective in the gently swirling pink and lilac of the Alpaca.

I have also been making some progress on my Clapotis and it's now 37" long! I wish i had measured how much wool it took for the end sections so i know how much i need to leave for the decrease sections, i don't really want to have any left over as i'll never knit with it again!! It's strange, although i don't like the yarn, i do love the scarf. The yarn is just so hard and thin, i find it hard to maintain an even tension, but luckily it's a scarf so tension really doesn't matter :oD

Right, i am off to get some knitting done. I'm going to try listening to the radio while i knit and see if that's a possibilty to stop me sitting insilence talking to myself :oD

Looking lovely Franney!

Laceweight has a mind all of its own. It took me three weeks to knit that FCS - they usually take a week tops.
