Christmas veg

are cooked!

My veg box came early, so instead of having it on Wednesday it came yesterday. Today i have cooked the sprouts, broccoli and swede for my dinner, a pile of yummy beetroot, plus i used up some manky old leeks and potatoes from the bottom of the fridge for today's lunch, and some carrots and yellowing brocolli for the ratties so they can have fresh veg every day now and not just when i have it for my dinner :oD
(They don't mind that it's past it's best ::lol::)

I shall cook some potatoes tomorrow for roasting plus mash some for my platter and i'll probably do some carrots as well... i do like my veg on Christmas Day! All i will need to do on Christmas Day is cook the chicken breasts, defrost some Jack Daniels glaze and roast the pre-cooked potatoes. Oh, i do hope my plan works! :oD

While i was doing this i was also having a bit of a tidy in the kitchen and i am happy to report that i have FOUND the kitchen table! Unfortunately i have now lost the bed, so tonight i intend to sort out the pile of clean clothes and reclaim the bed! I intend to work harder at sticking to a cleaning rota in the new year, i shall start out slowly though and not jump in at the deep end cos that'll just put me off. I do need to make some improvements though as the mess is even annoying me now and i'm not normally bothered by piles of stuff ::blushing::

In knitting news, my log cabin itch has been well and truly scratched and i am loving my new project. I'm using Sirdar baby Bamboo and the fabric it's created is just so soft and has a lovely drape. I have two balls of four colours and will just squeeze as much as i can out of them, i shall be sad to part with it but it's for a present ;o)
I was so organised, i even made some sketches of the colour sequence before i started! It's amazing how four colours can look so different together. It's wonderful mindless garter stitch knitting too and i am just loving it!!

Your cleaning regime sounds like mine - relcaim one, lose another!! I did find that someone on the moneysavingexpert's old style forum does a weekly fly-lady thread. They hugely simplify it and you can chose your level for the day 1 (very basic) 2 (err a bit more) 3 (If your mother is visiting!!!!) Much easier than the actual fly-lady thing with all those emails. You just pop in every morning to see what today's area is!

Hope you have a great Christmas. x

You're WAY more organised than me! I should blush really:o)

Log Cabin is a lovely pattern and can't wait to see yours when it's completed. I've been hankering to make one and just love drooling over pics of folk's projects.

Have a wonderful christmas and wishing you and yours health and happiness in 2009.
