Oh dear!

Another month has flown by and in all the excitement i haven't been posting!
Among other things my excuses for not posting include:
  • Been having fun camping - in the mud! A wonderful weekend was spent over in Malvern, knee deep in mud and singing along to the very awesome Drifters!
  • A weekend spent with my family, this year marks the tenth anniversary of my sister's death and while i generally steer away from this aspect of her passing we decided that it would do us good to spend the time together celebrating her life. We didn't always get along very well, my sister and i but when we did we had a blast and i miss her terribly and i can't even begin to imagine how my nieces feel at losing their Mum. Trout was living with her at the time but little niece was living with her Dad so she will never get the opportunity to get to know her, that must feel like a greater loss in some respects and she deals with it so maturely. I'm so proud of my girls!
  • A gammy leg that has meant i've been unable to sit for any longer than two minutes, or stand, or lie down or walk...
  • General lethargy really - been to the doctor's now though and she's going to run some tests and see if we can't get to the bottom of it so next week it's off for blood tests plus my smear is due so i'm going to be a brave girl and go and see the nurse. I hate having the smear test done, in all honesty i don't expect there's anyone who does is there?? You'd have to be a bit weird surely? :oD
So, this month i have bought myself some Peaches and Cream cotton from Cath at Create and Knit, a great service and even with the FREE 2nd class post it turned up THE NEXT DAY! How cool is that! I've now put all non-Chrimble knitting aside and am whipping up a plethora of washcloths and socks and hats for friends and family, plus i have some special friends that i want to make special things for and i also have THREE knittingy swaps that i'd like to make things for but we'll see how well i do with that plan! Swaps and a couple of birthday gifts are my priority now as i only have until the end of October to make them up and ship them out and then it's back to the socks and hats! I may have started my gift knitting too late ::lol::
I have lots of photos to upload at some point too and will probably backdate some posts so that they are kept in chronological order ;o)

Have a good weekend all, we have visitors staying until Monday and on Sunday we are off to London Zoo so i'm very excited about that, i love the Zoo :oD

I had my smear test a couple of weeks ago - when finished I asked the nurse to take my blood pressure as it's not been done for years...... "What???? after that?????" she exclaimed. Mind you I think it was almost as traumatic for her as it was for me!!

I can sympathise about the smear test - I had mine a couple of weeks ago. It was only 2 years overdue! *rolls eyes*

LOL Noo!

The doctor weighed me when i was there on Wednesday, she said i hadn't been weighed at the surgery since 2000! I said, "Oh, i've lost weight since then" she said, "yes, 2kg" I replied "No, i've lost 2 stone since then but put it back on again!" LOL
Still, 2kg weight loss in 8 years, can't be bad eh?! :oD
