I'm alive! ;o)

I made it there and back in one piece - HURRAH!
I didn't enjoy walking on the grassy bits so much, it was wet and slidy and the dog is a nuisance but the paths and pavement were lovely :oD
I timed it in sections, the first section was up into the field, across the top and then down Corkscrew Hill to Addington Road and back along to the car park which took 25.41. The next section was from the car park along the path to my turning point and that was 8.48 on the way there and 8.20 on the way back. The return leg i had the wind behind me and my eyes weren't streaming so much so it was a nicer walk :o) The last section was up to car park 2, then up into the field, across the top and back down to car park 1 and that took 10.50 so my total time is...
*drum roll*

53.41 :oD

I was aiming for an hour or less and i managed it, i'm very pleased with myself right now, i can tell you! I plan on doing that walk at least once a week and i'm going to plan some other walks using map my run that will give me just pavement walking to build up my fitness and one round Loyd Park where the Croydon Race for Life is held so i can get more used to walking on lumpy bumpy grass.

That's the plan anyway! :oD

You didn't mention the trainers so I'm guessing there were not issues with them & that they're nice & comfy?
Great time & well done on signing up. I would sign up with you but you know how it is... twins an all (I'll have that excuse for a while you know!) :-)
Shout at me when you need sponsorship.

the trainers are indeed lovely, it did take a while to get used to them mind you, seeing as i have spent the last 18 months or so in nothing but Crocs and the last couple of months in furry purple boots. My feet felt weird though, the trainers have an anti-roll thing which helps with flat feet so my feet were being pushed onto the outer edges which isn't a natural position for them but it wasn't too uncomfortable once i was used to it :oD
Twins an all... any excuse to get out of it eh? ;o)
