Yeah, sposed to be said in the sylee of Janice from Friends *lol*
Annnnnnnnnnnyway! The reason for my outburst is the fantabulous things that have happened to me today!
Firstly, the postie came and he had a small package for me... from the States! From none other than Ms Jeanie Townsend herself! I was so excited i didn't even take piccies i just ripped the paper off and tore the box open (carefully so i can re-use it ;o) ) and what did i find inside? Go on guess!
I found... THIS!
Have you guessed what it is yet?
It's a skein of oh-so-soft cotton Sockotta in a wild medley of bright circussy colours, quite wonderful just on it's own, but wait! What's that nesteled up next to it? Could it be... a skein of... Socks That Rock?? No, nobody could be that generous surely? But, yes, that is exactly what it is!! It's the colourway "Azurite" and is a gorgeous mix of purple and grey and it's very "me" thankyou again Jeanie, you're a star *hugs*
I am sooooooo thrilled with it, and Jeanie only sent it as a surprise, nothing more than that. What a lovely lady, i onlyhope she is half as happy with her little parcel as i am with mine, although i doubt it very much as mine is very small in comparison!
So, after the excitement of the postie, i went off to visit the chiropractor for another session which was awful and painful and pleasedon'tmakemegoagain! I had my usual Monday afternoon wander down to my LYS to recover before i drove home. I finished off a couple of "knit a river" squares and had a good old chinwag. It was lovely, Lisa is such a nice lady, how many other shop owners would let someone sit in their shop playing with their goods for hours on end, distracting them from their business and not buying anything?? Mind you, i did provide her with cake ;o)
So, we're chatting about this and that and conversation got around to my lovely skein of STR and we were talking about yarns we'd seen online but not had the opportunity to see "in real life" and i said "i'd love to see some Noro" at which point she ducked round the back. I could hear her rummaging around and then she came back out with a box... a black box... with gold writing on the side... and then she said "you can take one of these home with you" and then she opened the box and then i lost the ability to say anything but "ooooooooooh" and then i touched some and then i said "oh, it's not as soft as i thought it'd be" *lol* she said that everyone says that, she grabbed a skein of lovely muted browns and beiges and said that was her one, but i could have any one i wanted. For. Free! I'm feeling really down today what with the bad back, being bashed up at the Chiropractor and developing this cold on top of everything that's happened over the past couple of weeks, i nearly cried! I am now sitting here alternately petting my skein of STR and my skein of Kochoran #12 that i picked out. It wants to be a hat i think, the angora would trouble me with it's soft tickly bits, but it'd be lovely and warm as a hat and the colours are absolutely gooooooorgeous! See!
Alls i gotta do now is find a "one skein" pattern for a nice hat. I guess i could do one myself, and if i work it from the top down i can keep going til i run out of yarn but i don't want to poop it up and i just know i would cos i am like that! So, what shall i do with them all? I think the STR wants to be a shawl, the Sockotta wants to be socks and the Kochoran wants to be a hat, pattern recommendations anyone?
